January to March offers another beautiful window for safari, with generally dry conditions, excellent wildlife viewing and the possibility of a more tranquil experience.

• The migration is never guaranteed. Herd timing and river crossings depend on rainfall, and no operator can promise a crossing on a given day.
• Kilimanjaro views from Amboseli depend on the weather. The mountain is often clearest at dawn and can be hidden in cloud later in the day.
• Peak season is busy. July to October is popular in the Mara, so book early and expect more vehicles at the best sightings.
• Distances can be long. Moving between parks by road takes time, and internal flights, while faster, add to the cost.
• Wildlife is never guaranteed anywhere. Some days are extraordinary, others are quieter. That is the nature of a wild place.
